Education Opportunities at the Cornwall Aviation heritage Centre

Inspiration leads to EDUCATION!

From the very first day that CAHC was created, we have planned to provide an unparalleled aerospace resource for education, training and activity organisations covering all age ranges.

Since CAHC opened its gates in 2015 we have hosted ever- increasing numbers of school visits, cadet groups and other educational and training organisations and have provided facilities, resources and assets to colleges and institutes of further education.

Primary and secondary schools, aero-engineering course undergraduates, cabin-crew trainees, Air Cadets and apprentices, all have enjoyed the unique, hands-on and inclusive aerospace experience that is available with the resources and facilities we provide and each year we host a number of lucky Work Experience students, with a limited amount of spaces remaining for 2020.

But that was just the start! During 2021 and building on our previous successes, CAHC’s collaboration with the newly formed charity the Cornwall Aerospace Education Trust will encompass all aerospace education resource provision from CAHC, taking and expanding our vision into the new decade. Together, CAHC and CAET will work closely with colleges, schools and local government bodies including the exciting new Spaceport project to develop opportunities for educating, training and inspiring further generations toward careers that can take them to new horizons, perhaps all the way to the stars.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for organising our visit last Friday (March 2018). We all had a fantastic time. I think the day was really well organised, and I really like the worksheets and the paper plane activities. The worksheets gave the children something to focus on, and the paper planes were very exciting! It is brilliant that the children can actually go into so many planes and sit in the cockpits – they thought the whole day was amazing.
Thank you again.

The Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre is now permanently closed due to the the termination of its premises lease. The project to relocate the museum has been set-aside as the request for 8 months deferral of notice to allow time to prepare the new site was refused. Thank you to all CAHC's supporters, especially the SDL Foundation which offered to provide £1,000,000 to finance the aborted relocation project.

Cornwall Council has terminated CAHC's tenancy and we may never open again. If you would like to help fight this decision by Cornwall Council, please sign our online petition at - https://www.change.org/p/save-cornwall-aviation-heritage-centre
